Terms of Service

Clear expectations for using our website, visiting the yard and doing business with Grab-a-part.

Last updated:

1. Who we are & how these terms apply

Grab-a-part is a DBA of Smash City Scrap LLC, located at 874 CR 5715, Natalia, TX 78059. In these terms, "Grab-a-part," "we," "us" and "our" mean Smash City Scrap LLC doing business as Grab-a-part. "You" means the person using our website or services.

These terms describe conditions for website use, yard visits, parts purchases and related services. Please read them before using a service. When a transaction requires your agreement, review and accept the terms presented for that transaction. If you do not agree to the applicable terms, do not proceed with that service.

Separate documents may apply to a purchase, rental, removal job, vehicle sale or yard entry. Those documents govern their specific subject when lawfully agreed to, subject to applicable law. A footer link or a visit to this website does not sign a liability release, authorize a payment or replace an agreement that requires a signature.

2. Admission, return visits & the entry waiver

Entry is $1 per person for every visit, including every return visit. Admission covers that visit only. Parts, tool rentals and removal assistance are separate charges. Paying once does not create a membership or an unlimited-entry pass.

You must complete the required entry process, review and sign the applicable entry waiver, and follow the yard rules and staff instructions. Payment does not replace the waiver or establish that staff have cleared you to enter. The admission fee does not purchase personal insurance coverage or eliminate anyone's legal responsibilities.

Minors may enter or participate only as permitted by the yard's written rules and any required parent or guardian documentation. Call before bringing a minor. Hours and closures are listed on our Hours & directions page; weather, unsafe conditions or operational needs may affect access. Ask staff about any admission-payment issue or closure before paying for a visit.

3. Yard hazards & safe conduct

This is an active automotive salvage yard. Damaged vehicles, sharp metal, broken glass, moving or falling parts, stored pressure, batteries, fluids, airbags, machinery and uneven ground can cause serious injury or death. Read the complete risk disclosures in the entry waiver before entering.

Staff may stop work, refuse entry or require a person to leave for unsafe conduct or failure to follow yard rules, consistent with applicable law. Keep track of your own tools and belongings and secure parts for transport. These responsibilities do not excuse the business from duties imposed by law.

4. Used parts, inventory & fitment

Our parts come from used vehicles. Condition, prior use, damage and completeness vary. Inspect the actual part before removing or buying it and confirm compatibility with your vehicle, including year, model, engine, trim, connectors and any required programming. Use a qualified professional when you cannot safely evaluate or install a component.

A vehicle appearing in an inventory search does not mean a particular part is still present, usable or reserved for you. Listings, photographs and compatibility suggestions may be incomplete or out of date. A search result is not a reservation, a diagnosis or a guarantee that a part fits. Confirm availability with the yard and check the actual component.

Website information does not authorize unsafe installation, emissions tampering or use contrary to manufacturer instructions or applicable law. Any express promises made as part of your sale and any rights provided by law remain applicable.

5. Prices, core charges & payment

Check the current price with staff before removing a part or authorizing work. Listed prices may distinguish the part price from a core charge, tax or other disclosed charge. A core charge is a separate amount associated with an eligible exchange of an old component; eligibility and any refund depend on the terms provided for that purchase.

The total, applicable taxes and any additional charges must be disclosed before you agree to buy. A price estimate is not a completed sale. If a listing contains an error, we will explain the corrected amount before completing the transaction so you can decide whether to proceed. A later website change does not by itself change an agreed purchase price.

We accept credit cards, debit cards and cash at the yard. When online admission payment is available, it is processed through Stripe, with Link where offered. Use only a payment method you are authorized to use. A failed, canceled or pending payment is not confirmed payment. Contact us if you believe a charge is incorrect or duplicated.

Military members and first responders receive 15% off with a valid ID presented. Thank you for your service. Ask staff to confirm the discount on your purchase before payment.

6. Returns, warranties & core refunds

Before purchasing, ask for the written terms applicable to that item, including any return or exchange eligibility, time limits, receipt requirements, warranty coverage and core-return conditions. Keep your receipt and any terms provided with the sale. Contact the yard promptly if a part is incorrect or you believe it has a defect.

These website terms do not establish a blanket "all sales final" policy, a merchandise "as is" disclaimer or a fixed return or core-refund deadline. The applicable sale terms and the law determine those rights. Nothing here cancels an express warranty, excludes an implied warranty that has not been lawfully excluded, or removes a consumer remedy that cannot be waived.

7. Tool rentals & removal assistance

Bring your own permitted tools, or ask about tools available to rent at the yard. Availability, rental price, rental period, any deposit and responsibility for loss or damage must be explained and agreed to before a rental starts. Inspect the tool, follow its instructions, use required protection and report a defect immediately. Do not use damaged equipment.

Yard staff can provide paid part-removal assistance. The fee depends on the part, the work involved and the circumstances of the job. Staff must confirm the scope and price with you before work begins; additional work or charges require your agreement. Removal assistance does not automatically include installation, delivery or a warranty for the part.

Staff may decline or stop work that cannot be performed safely. Keep clear of the work area and follow instructions. Staff assistance does not replace the yard-entry process or the separate waiver.

8. Selling your vehicle to us

We consider running and non-running vehicles. A call or online request is an inquiry, not a guaranteed offer or completed purchase. You must provide accurate information and have legal authority to sell the vehicle. For a titled sale, the title must be in your name. Disclose ownership issues, liens, vehicle condition and pickup-access concerns so staff can determine whether a purchase can proceed.

A limited exception for a licensed used automotive parts recycler under Texas Transportation Code §501.098 and 43 Texas Administrative Code §217.87 may apply to a vehicle without a title only if it is at least 13 years old, has not been registered for at least seven years, and is acquired solely for parts, dismantling or scrap. These conditions do not replace the required ownership, stolen-vehicle and lien checks, reporting or other statutory requirements, and do not guarantee acceptance. Read the no-title eligibility guidance and call staff before arranging pickup or delivery. A seller inquiry or website acknowledgment does not complete the required recycler report.

Pickup is available; cost varies by location and service area. Staff will confirm the offer, pickup arrangements, any pickup charge or agreed deduction, and required ownership documents before you commit. Current seller payment is in cash. Final payment and ownership transfer follow the agreed transaction and verification of the vehicle and documents.

9. Responsible website use

Use the website for lawful purposes and submit accurate information that you are authorized to provide. Do not impersonate another person, submit a signature for someone without lawful authority, send malicious code or spam, interfere with site operation, bypass security or access another person's records.

Do not use automated requests to disrupt the service, evade access controls or harvest personal information. We may restrict abusive or unlawful website access. An online inquiry does not guarantee a response time, reserve a vehicle or part, or create a purchase agreement.

10. Website content & third-party services

Our branding, original text, illustrations and website design are owned by us or used under license. You may view the website and save or print information for your own lawful shopping or records. Do not republish our original content for commercial use, alter ownership notices or imply an endorsement without permission, except as permitted by law. Other names and marks belong to their respective owners.

The site may link to or display services supplied by others, such as maps, inventory tools or payment services. Their availability, privacy practices and service terms are their own. A link does not imply that we control an outside service. This does not remove our responsibilities for our own transactions or representations.

11. Personal information & electronic records

Our Privacy Policy explains the information collected by available forms, payment-status records and essential website cookies. Follow the instructions for each form and provide only information requested for that purpose. Do not send card details or identification documents through a general inquiry.

Where electronic signing is offered, its disclosures and consent process are separate from reading these terms. You must be able to review the actual agreement before signing. Viewing a page, submitting a vehicle inquiry or paying admission does not by itself sign the entry waiver. Keep the receipt or copy provided for your records.

12. Website availability

The website and general reference tools are provided on an "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not promise uninterrupted, error-free access or that general website information will meet a particular need. Outages, maintenance and delayed inventory updates can occur. Call the yard when current information is essential to your visit.

This website-service disclaimer does not disclaim a warranty on merchandise, override a specific promise in a transaction or excuse a misleading statement prohibited by law.

Subject to those protections and to the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential economic loss, such as lost business profits, caused solely by inability to access this website. That limitation concerns website access only. It does not apply to bodily injury, property damage, merchandise warranties, a separate service agreement or an obligation to return money when required by law.

14. Questions, disputes & applicable law

Please contact us about a concern so we can review it. Keep your receipt and relevant details. Contacting us is encouraged, but these terms do not make it a prerequisite to using a legal remedy or shorten a legal filing deadline.

Texas law and applicable federal law govern these terms, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. These terms do not require arbitration, waive a jury trial or class-action rights, or prevent a complaint to a government agency. Any court proceeding remains subject to applicable jurisdiction and venue rules.

15. Changes & interpretation

We may update these terms and will revise the date above when we do. Changes apply prospectively and do not retroactively rewrite a completed transaction, a previously signed waiver or an existing claim. If a change requires your consent by law or under an existing agreement, we will obtain it through the applicable process.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive it on another. No provision overrides rights that cannot legally be waived.
